Linh Series Information

When Vr3 Mods first formed in 2011, it all started with the Castle series which eventually evolved into the Fortress series. The name derived from the aluminum faceplate and stacked components.  This has transformed into the Linh series, which going with our family values is named after my wife. When the unit was fully assembled, it resembled a small Fortress. The Fortress concept was designed to provide a price competitive, yet high performance product that was easy to install. Most Linh series builds can be installed in under one hour and require minimal or no cabinet modifications. These modifications will vary depending on the level of the build. In general, you will find Clarity Cap CSA / ESA, Mundorf Mox or Jantzen Superes resistors, Jantzen Inductors, point to point wiring, Supra internal wiring or Streetwires, gold disconnects, the works.

The Linh series consolidated all of the old Fortress V2, Fortress Plus into one line.

All new capacitors, Clarity Cap CSA / ESA in critical paths (smaller values, must fit on chassis), Mundorf E-Cap or Bennic electrolytics bypassed by Clarity Cap CSA / ESA for larger values, unless in a critical part of the network.  Mundorf mox or Jantzen superes resistors, Jantzen inductors (air or permite, depending on chassis), point to point,  computer designed, laser cut substrates. 

Most of our customers see the following improvements
           1) Improved imaging: Cleaner, refined, greater depth/height/width
           2) Improved micro details, less smearing of the higher frequencies - overall greater detail and refinement
           3) Improved bass response and clarity
           4) Improved effeciency, speakers appear to be easier to drive
           5) Everything about the speakers improves, the general sound traits refine, open up and go to that next level.

   Are Aluminum plates available for my speakers?
       At this time terminal plates are only available for Polk Audio speakers featuring bi-wire terminal cups. While this size is fairly common if you are curious if yours will work please send the dimensions of your terminal cups using our contact form.

   Why point to point wiring?
       All Fortress level mods are wired point to point for the shortest, purest signal transfer. The ultimate goal in the layout of the components is for the shortest signal path and anytime a wire is connected to another it is hooked and soldered for the best possible connection. You can be assured this will allow you the best possible sound quality.

   What is bypassing capacitors and what are your thoughts?
       Bypassing capacitors is where you take a small value capacitors (Usually below 1uf) and couple it to a larger value capacitor. You usually do this to obtain the sound characteristics of the smaller, higher quality cap.
